Rijkswaterstaat has commissioned a project focused on the design of a sustainable bridge railing that incorporates locally harvested hemp from Nieuw Zwanenburg.

The bridge is placed at the Symbiotic Innovation Pavilion at the InnovA58 test site in Oirschot, near Eindhoven. Lotek harvested, experimented, designed and produced a railing from hemp rope. The bridge element consists of flax composite and recycled azobé wood.
